Local wisdom and Islam Nusantara are two perspectives that are significantly interconnected in discussions regarding religious moderation and multicultural social life in Indonesia. However, studies on these topics tend to address them separately; consequently, their conceptual relationship and the mechanisms of their integration in fostering social harmony have not yet been systematically synthesized. This study aims to analyze the link between local wisdom and Islam Nusantara within the context of religious moderation and to identify how they integrate to strengthen social harmony in a multicultural society. A qualitative approach was employed, utilizing a literature review that examined relevant scholarly journals, academic books, and official documents particularly publications from the last five to ten years. Thematic analysis was conducted to identify concepts, values, practical applications, and inter-conceptual relationships found in the literature. The findings reveal a convergence between local wisdom values such as tolerance, mutual cooperation (gotong royong), deliberation (musyawarah), and respect for diversity and the principles of Islam Nusantara , which emphasize moderation (tawassuth), tolerance (tasamuh), balance (tawazun), and uprightness (i‘tidal). The literature indicates that the interconnection of these values manifests in three primary forms: the internalization of moderation values, the strengthening of social cohesion, and culturally grounded conflict resolution. These findings offer a conceptual contribution by demonstrating that local wisdom and Islam Nusantara need not be viewed merely as parallel sources of values; rather, they can be analyzed as interacting elements that shape religious practices that are both contextual and inclusive. Thus, this study expands the discourse on religious moderation by positioning the local cultural dimension as a crucial component in understanding the formation of social harmony in Indonesia.
